It’s Important. Census results
will determine representation in the U.S. House of
Representatives and in state and local governments,
and the distribution of federal funds for community
services, such as senior centers, health care, job
training, education, and public safety.
Sales and gasoline taxes are collected
by the State and distributed to Cities based on the
population count determined by the Census. Greenacres
receives about 3.4 million per year based on the population
count which equates to $100 per person. This money
helps the City of Greenacres provide services to you
and your family and keeps your local taxes low.
It’s Safe.
By law, the census Bureau cannot share your information
with anyone including other federal agencies or law
enforcement entities. All employees are sworn for
life to protect the confidentiality of the information.
YOU can
make a difference by simply completing and mailing
back the 2010 Census form by April1, 2010.
